Beloved Brighton
A little day trip to Brighton on a not so bright day. Despite the blustery day, what a lovely part of the country! I look forward to exploring the little villages in Sussex next time I’m in the neighbourhood.
The aptly named Tidy Street.
Neither rain nor wind will keep this little one off the pebble beach!
Hamish Black’s bronze “Afloat” stands against a roiling sea. Symbolic of the world, the artist pinched the north and south poles together and put the resulting donut on its side. The longitude lines radiate out from the centre linking the sky and the sea.

Directions to all the important places in Firle.
A hidden country lane leading to the 12th century St Peter’s Church in Firle.
In the church, we found a fabulous article from 1940 in which a local shepherd tells the story of seeing a vision of Christ in the sky. He says he leads a simple life; just him, his dogs, his missus and his sheep, and that what he saw must be like what they tell him the cinema is like, but it's more real. Zoom in and have a read!
The best part of Brighton was reconnecting with my old friend Mike! We are third generation friends. Our grandparents were friends which spurred a friendship between our parents and then us!
