Hiking Cape Split
Marking the end of the North Mountain Range, Cape Split runs between the Bay of Fundy and the Minas Basin. Apparently this headland has been separated from the mainland thanks to the force of the incoming and outgoing tides which are the highest in the world. 600 billion tonnes of water flowing twice a day! A stunning hike with a picnic at the tip. Thanks to Carolyn Mallory and Mark for an amazing day!
Even at the time of year there are still wildflowers. I can only imagine the blanket of colours earlier in the season.
Peeking through a crack 200m up.
Tip of Cape Split.
Finally! Unmistakable evidence of Bigfoot!
All the possible textures crammed into one little photo; soft and fluffy, sharp and craggy, spindly and pokey, smooth and wet, sandy and gritty.
I feel like a very tiny Queen of the World.
At one of the many “look offs” along the trail.
Perfect day.
Silt is constantly churned up by the powerful tides.
Picnic time! Thankfully tick season is over!
